My name is Lisa Avery. Chris (my hubby) and I have been married for 15 years. We have 6 children and a cat! While my husband has been growing a thriving chain of businesses, I have been successfully involved in various retail-based adventures of my own for approximately 6 years.
Nicole's is a privately owned business "birthed" from a need to solve two problems. Problem #1: Having five of those six babies myself, I understand needing to “hide” some things. I know how frustrating and traumatic it is to go swimsuit shopping, only to be embarrassed about my shape and finding nothing to fit me! Problem #2: Service was virtually nonexistent. Having no clue where to even start looking, no one was ever available or willing to invest any time or effort in helping me to attain my desire to "suit up."
So, having a clear and painful understanding of the shortcomings of the retail industry, I thought I could eliminate these two problems and offer a personalized shopping experience in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Hey! If I can run a household with 6 children (five of them are boys), I can figure out how to run a store that caters to my kind of (girly) needs, right?
Some people think I am crazy for taking on a swimsuit project. (I never claimed to be sane! After 6 kids, COME ON!) It is a big project, but so far I have had a blast and I am excited about the opportunity to serve you! I think women (and our needs) are sometimes overlooked. I want to fix that! Plus, I have a need to make the world around me beautiful and the people in it, too! That can’t be wrong, can it?
